Hawaii

While Jack stayed home to study for the boards, my family was kind enough to take me and the kids along on their trip to Hawaii. With two kids and no husband I needed lots of help, so I am grateful they were willing to drag us along with them.

We first went to the island of Hawaii and saw the volcano there. On the way to the volcano, Hannah told me, "I love volcanoes SO much. Don't throw me in it, ok?" Where does she get this stuff?
This island was very different than the other islands because there was so much black rock everywhere and it was quite dry. I almost felt like we were driving in southern Utah except that the rocks were black instead of red. The hotel we stayed at was amazing and included a dolphin pool and a boat shuttle that took you to your room. It was built around a lagoon and a lot of sea life would swim into the lagoon so we were able to swim with turtles and lots of fish. We also hiked to this waterfall:

We then went to Kauai, which is my favorite place in the world, where we spent lots of time doing this:

We took the red eye home. Jackson slept in my arms the whole time. Hannah never went to sleep - she was awake for a full 24 hours! She was really hyper and bouncing around. Once she got in her car seat in Salt Lake she passed out for the rest of the day. We are still working on getting over the jet lag.

We sure missed Jack! His big test is on Thursday and we can't wait to have it over so we can have our dad and husband back again!
