Yes, today I entered into the LAST year of my 20's. But I'm not sad. The upcoming year holds so many exciting things for us, I plan to enjoy this year. Here are 29 reasons why my 29th birthday was great:
1) Waking up to two cute faces at 5:45 am (ok, the 5:45 am part was not that great)
2) Coming upstairs to find flowers, a cute new coat and the funniest card from Jack.
3) My kids each gave me one of their toys as a gift, even though they later reclaimed those toys it was very sweet.
4) Getting a real car wash (my birthday present to myself).
5) Meeting some of my sweet friends in the park for pizza and cupcakes and the kids played for hours.
6) It was such a beautiful, warm fall day.
7) The mountains looked amazing with all the red leaves.
8) Jack got more residency interview invitations and he has more interviews than he can handle - literally. It is a blessing that he has to go through the process of choosing which ones to go to.
9) Jack took his LAST SHELF EXAM EVER today.
10) Jack finished his Neurology rotation today.
11) My mom offered to babysit and my kids were SO excited to go play at her house.
12) Spending the evening alone with my husband.
13) Bang bang chicken at Cheesecake factory, a birthday tradition
14) Dulce de leche cheesecake.
15) Pumpkin cupcake from So Cupcake.
16) Having a birthday in my favorite season is the BEST!
17) Hiking to the spot where we got engaged.
18) Reliving our high school days and sneaking into the Snowbird pool.
19) All the texts, calls and facebook messages from friends.
20) Hannah told me that she does naughty things because she has a naughty skeleton in her body...ha ha.
21) Sami gave me chocolate covered cinnamon bears - my favorite candy ever - which I refuse to buy myself because I can't stop eating them.
22) Jack doesn't have any more rotations or class for the next three months! He gets to use this time to go to interviews, study for step 2 and hang out with us!
23) Taking a nap with Hannah.
24) Seeing Hannah's reaction when we bought her a $2 princess pumpkin bag for trick-or-treating (she's so easy to please!).
25) Watching "Up All Night" and laughing hysterically with Jack, we can totally relate to that show.
26) Getting a very sweet card in the mail from a woman in my ward.
27) Planning fun activities for the upcoming week.
28) A new yellow sweater.
29) Looking up at a clear starry sky through the window while falling asleep under a down comforter in a freezing cold room.
