Seattle Weekend

Jack has been working Sunday through Thursday nights.  Usually when he gets home in the morning after staying up for 14 hours he crashes in bed and sleeps nearly until his shift starts again (yuck!).  But Friday morning he came home and said, "I slept four hours last night!  Let's go somewhere."  We debated our options and finally bid on a hotel room in Seattle on Priceline.  We got a great deal on a great room downtown and we went!  It is about a four hour drive from here.  We had to be back by Sunday night for Jack's shift, so it was a short trip, but Seattle was worth it.  It is one of my favorite places I've ever been.  The weather was amazing and we were able to see Mt Rainier from the city the whole time (which is apparently unusual).

I had no idea there were sandy beaches in Seattle.  We went to this great beach in West Seattle called Alki beach.  It was a fun little beach town lined with walking paths and fun restaurants. 

The water was REALLY cold.
