Jackson is 4!

Jackson turned 4 today!  He's been looking forward to this for a long time.  To celebrate we saw "The Lego Movie" at the drive in theater with our friends the Starleys and Alamedas over the weekend.  On his birthday he opened presents right when he woke up and played with his new toys from his grandparents all morning.  All he wanted was a remote control car and a headlight and was so excited to receive them.  After we picked up Hannah from school we took donuts to the park and had a playdate with friends.  One of his friends gave him a kite and he had so much fun flying it on the soccer field with his friends.  We stayed up late and waited for Daddy to get home so we could have cake and he could open his presents from Mom and Dad.  I think he had a really great day.  I love my little 4 year old.  

Jackson!  Buddy!  Mister!  Today you are 4.  You are growing so tall.  You love to play electronic games, especially Angry Birds and Mario Kart on the Wii.  You also like board games like "Spot It", "Candy Land", and "Memory".  You are learning to not be a sore loser and call out "I Loseded!" happily when you lose or "You loseded," happily when someone else loses.  You play rough with Jane and she usually loves it.  All day long you chase her around and around the table or wrestle with her or push her as fast as you can in her toy stroller or explore for lizards and bugs with her. She's lucky to have a brother to teach her to be so tough.  You also love to play with Hannah and love Saturdays when she doesn't have school.  You like to watch "My Little Pony", play pillow pets, play hide and seek and red light green light together.  You hate picking up your toys but are very thorough with the chores I give you such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning out the garbage can, watering the lawn, cleaning windows.  I'm always so impressed with what an excellent job you do.  You love to help me cook and always ask how you can help in the kitchen.  You are an excellent climber and can climb to the top of any pole or tree.  You love to ride your bike.  You get frustrated when you are not good at something and make a deep grunting noise or throw things across the room.  You are normally so calm and cool but when you get mad your anger flares up out of nowhere.  We call you the "Incredible Hulk" when this happens.  You know you can't hit your friends when they make you mad but you sure can give them a mean glare!  You try to hide your smile when you think something is funny or you are embarased.  You are so good at figuring things out and like to try things on your own without asking for help.  You love legos and your marble run for this reason.  Your favorite foods are corndogs and zuchini muffins and apples. Your favorite candies are bubble gum and crunch bars.  You LOVE money and stop to pick up any coin you find on the street.  You always carry quarters with you in case you come across a bubble gum machine.  You know all of your letters and the sounds they make and you can write most of them.  You are starting to learn some sight words.  You love to cut and glue and do art projects.  You draw the cutest people and the funniest pictures, like the one you drew the other day of Jane running away from eye drops.  You are becoming so independent but I love it when you randomly come snuggle up to me or give me a hug.  You love to tie knots and if you find any string, watch out, you tie it to the chairs and door knobs in the house.  You love to catch lizards and play with chalk outside or make creations out of seashells.  Jackson you are the best little boy and we love you so much.  Happy birthday!
