Christmas Break and New Year

Here are some more things we did over Jack's break:
Went to the zoo in the fog, we were the only people there!

Went to the temple.
Went out to eat.
Played with our new Blendtec Blender; we blended 55 concoctions in one week! (thanks mom and dad)

Testing out homemade baby food in the Blendtec, this recipe wasn't really a hit.

Slept in once or twice past 7:00 am (thanks kids).
Played games with friends.
Watched lots of movies.
Let the kids stay up way too late on New Year's Eve dancing to New Year's Rockin' Eve on TV and eating Astronaut Surprise:

Had our annual New Year's Eve party with our high-school friends who were in town for the holidays (minus a few):

Sent Hannah to Sunbeams for the first time, she is the youngest in the whole primary.  She liked it ok, but said she was really hungry and tired since primary falls during lunch and her nap time.

Now it's back to reality.  But at least Jack is doing his Psychiatry rotation, so we'll still be seeing a lot of him for the next few weeks.

We are looking forward to 2011. Jack will turn his residency applications in June and we have a lot to do to get them ready.  He will also start his fourth (and last!) year of medical school, which is supposed to be the easiest of the four years - other than the stress of applying for and interviewing at residency programs.  If Jack continues with his plan to go into Ophthalmology, we will find out where he is accepted about a year from now!  It seems like 2011 holds a lot of great and exciting things for our little family.

My New Year's Resolutions:
1) Finish losing this "baby weight."  Despite continually working on this and working hard, this has been a slow process for me.  I'm not sure why it has been so hard for me this time around, but I WILL do it.  This includes continuing to eat healthy and to exercise more.
2) Read the Book of Mormon front to back by the end of the year.  Not a very lofty goal, but I think that reading small increments each day will help me to remember to read EVERY day without feeling overwhelmed.
3) Learn to use Photoshop.
4) Hold Family Home Evening every week.
5) Family scriptures - we decided that to do this we would use a picture from the Gospel Art Kit each night at dinner and read the scripture and the story from the back of it.
6) Read more often.
7) Read to Hannah and Jackson more often.
8) Help get Jack's residency application ready and turned in early!
9) Create a book out of our blog so far so that we have a printed family journal.
10) Get my computer organized and back it all up.
