Jackson 8 Months

Jackson is officially 8 months old.  He is so darn cute, I love this age.  He has changed so much even in just the past month, so here are some things I want to remember about him at this age:
- He has become extremely mobile.  Usually he just crawls around at a mozy-ing pace, exploring the environment.  But when he sees something he wants, he can crawl like a speed demon to get it.  The other night we were eating ice cream on the floor for family night, he saw me with the bowl and crawled over as fast as he could to beg for some.  He also loves when other kids come over and run around and he chases them as fast as he can.
- The kid LOVES food.  We can't figure out if he is always starving or if he just really enjoys eating.  Tonight we went to visit Jack at the hospital and ate dinner there in the cafeteria.  I fed Jackson quite a bit of food before we left, but the entire time at the hospital he begged for food as if he hadn't eaten in days.  He ended up eating all of Jack's fries!  (Healthy, right?)

- He is so happy and content.  He had the stomach flu this week and he never complained.  He would vomit, then smile at me and crawl around as if nothing was wrong.  That is pretty much how he is all the time.  He could just crawl around the house exploring or play with a toy for a long time and be content, he rarely demands attention.  Sometimes I even put him down for a nap in his bed and think he is asleep but awhile later I hear him babbling in there and realize he is just playing by himself happily in his bed.
- He just started crawling to me and reaching up when he is sad, hungry or tired.  It melts my heart when he does it.
- He can do "So Big!" with his arms.  He is also starting to wave bye-bye.
- He has a mouth full of teeth.  All of a sudden he has four on the bottom and two on the top.  When the first two on the bottom came through a few months ago he was really cranky, but this time I didn't even know he was teething until the teeth all broke through.

- He still loves his sis, even when she doesn't love him back.  When he wakes up from his nap I say to him, "Where is Hannah?" and he grins and kicks his feet and starts looking for her.
- He responds to his name and he also can find "Dada", "Mama", "Hannah" and "Dog" (if there is a dog around) when asked.
- He absolutely loves seeing animals, especially dogs.  He really enjoyed a recent trip to the zoo.  We went to the small animal building and he was beyond excited to see all of the animals at just his eye level.
- His favorite naughty things to do are to crawl to the bathroom and play with the plunger (ew sick!) and play with any cords in the house.  He always tries to unplug things and chew on cords, it makes me so nervous!  I always try to keep the bathroom door shut, but that has resulted in some accidents for Hannah since she doesn't know how to open doors yet, so it is hard to keep him out of the bathroom.  He also LOVES the vacuum and whenever I pull it out he gets to it as fast as he can and climbs up on it.  It makes it really hard to vacuum since he follows me around trying to touch it.

- He loves the bath and if he hears anyone taking a shower or bath he makes a b-line to the bathroom to see if he can get in too.
- His favorite toy is one of those little vacuum ball poppers from Fisher Price.  He loves when Hannah pushes it around him and he loves to try and push it himself, which is hard to do when you can't walk!
- He loves to pound on anything and everything to make noise.  He also loves to make short little yelling sounds when he is in any hallway, just to hear the echo.  He sits in our hallway everyday shouting just to hear the sound.  When we visited Jack in the hospital tonight he couldn't get enough of hearing himself yell in the big empty hallways there.

What a sweet little guy.  I could just eat him up!  He makes me want to have 10 more babies just like him.
