Since preschool started, Hannah has been upset with her hair color. On the first day of class, the kids were discussing their eye and hair color. Hannah proclaimed that her hair was yellow, but the other kids informed her that it is actually brown.
She asks me often why her hair is brown and not "yellow" like mine and Jackson's. At first I just told her that Jesus made her that way. As time has gone on that answer no longer satisfies her, so this week I tried to explain a little bit about genetics and that her hair is a mixture of mine and her daddy's.
She has been thinking about that explanation a lot apparently. Today she explained to me that,
"I think it was a windy day and I still lived in heaven and the wind blew some of your hair and some of Daddy's hair to Jesus and he put it on me."
"No," I stifled my laughter, "actually you just got a part of me and a part of Daddy when you were in my tummy."
"oh! So there is a little hole in your tummy and you put some of your hair in there so it can go on my head!"
